Karen Gillan
Karen Sheila Gillan was born and raised in Inverness, Scotland, as the only child of Marie Paterson and husband John Gillan, who is a singer and recording artist. She developed a love for acting very early on, attending several youth theatre groups and taking part in a wide range of productions at her school, Charleston Academy. At age 16, Karen decided she wanted to pursue her acting career further and, studied under the renowned theatre director Scott Johnston at the Performing Arts Studio Scotland. Karen Glave is a Canadian actress who grew up, just outside of Montreal, in Chateauguay, Quebec. Dickerson, Don McKellar's Last Night (1998), and was directed again by Ernest Dickerson, opposite Mandy Patinkin, in Showtime's Strange Justice (1999). She has gone on to work in films, such as The Day After Tomorrow (2004) and Dream House (2011), as well as television series, such as Lost Girl (2010), Warehouse 13 (2009) (2013), Suits (2011) (2013) and Guillermo del Toro's new series, The Strain (2014).

She has given presentations to professional groups including the NSCA, USA Gymnastics, and the Chamber of Commerce. Karen also enjoys being cast according to any of her special abilities which include Precision Driving, Ballroom Dance, Swimming, Strength Coach (CSCS), Gymnastics Coach, and Fitness Trainer. According to Karen, "It's always fun to bring your real-life experience to the screen." Karen is very well-spoken and college educated. In the late 1980's, Karen spent a long time reducing her Brooklyn accent during her time with the NYPD. Karen has studied physical therapy, health sciences, business, and law in college.
