Tara Platt

Born in Fairfax, Virginia, Tara grew up all over the country, from Arizona to Oklahoma to Michigan to New York City, finally ending up in LA. Following high school, she studied at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. While studying in London at the London Academy of Theatre, she performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland before moving to New York City. Her debut in New York was in Alan Ball's Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. In 2004 she started Monkey Kingdom Productions with partner Yuri Lowenthal. She continues to be seen on stage and screen globally and can be heard in voice over in animation - Temari on Naruto (2002) and video games - Wonder Woman in _Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (2008)_, and is quickly becoming known for "donning costumes or disguises to go into alternate realities" as evidenced by her work in science fiction, period pieces, and comic book worlds or other realms.

Tara was born in Edmonton, Alberta, raised in Calgary, and is a graduate of the University of Alberta Drama program (BA Honours). After her inaugural theatrical production upon relocating to Vancouver in 2006 ("Hamlet", Ophelia), Tara appeared in several stage productions with Twenty-Something Theatre including Brad Fraser's "Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love", and the world premier of "Prodigals" in 2011, which has since been adapted into a feature film. The fantasy-comedy web series, Standard Action, found a loyal following in the gaming world as well as the web series community. Tara was nominated for a Leo award in 2015 for her performance in another web series, Aeternus, and again in 2016 for her role in the web series Stricken. No Men Beyond This Point had its North American premiere at TIFF in 2015, and Tara was awarded the Vancouver Film Critics Circle award for Best Supporting Actress in a Canadian Film in 2016 for her role as Terra Granger. Tara is represented by Jaye Riske with Principals Talent.
