Val is the fourth child of popular Filipino character actor Augusto Victa and Connie M. Miranda. He considers his father his greatest"acting influence" and mentor, having trained him to compete in various provincial and region-wide Declamation & Oratorical contests since the early age of seven. Val held the prestige of being the Provincial Champion throughout his elementary and high school years. His first "break" as an actor was a mainstay role in the Filipino hit soap-opera "Annaliza" where he played the role of "Ronnie" for eight years. That led him to become quite known throughout the country.
